So many issues with technology like IVF. As a parent, how much do you value genetic affinity? The courts value it at 30% of the cost of upbringing a child. From a spiritual perspective, is it right to say that parents should bear full cost irregardless of genetic affinity? Rightly so I believe as God allowed the spirit of the child to be born into this world, not that he should be blamed for He is perfect but the mix up is due to our fallen nature. He destined the parents to nuture that precious soul irregardless of genetic affinity. Abortion should not be an option to consider in this case.
To have a relationship and be with God
1 Peter 3:18 ESV
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,…
The Kingdom of his Son shall know no end!
Colossians 1:9-14 ESV
And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may
be filled (passive => God to fill us)
with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
so as to (result)
walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father,
who has (prize)
qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,
(the narrow path of Christ) we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Philippians 3:7-11 ESV
But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith- that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.
Philippians 3:20-21 ESV
But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
Ephesians 6:13-18 ESV
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

Benny Hinn’s Ministry Today
This article shows the amazing ability of how the gospel reached diversity in the world today and the origins of the reformation with love and fellowship within the body of Christ, with each believer having direct access to scripture, affirming “priesthood of all believers” yest posessing unity in Christ and fellowship, mostly.
Although this article is a critic on the Aplha course, I learnt that the course is targeted multi denominational so it cannot go to depths of discussion, which obviously some ppl will not accept. Secondly, its power is in the alpha weekend or Holy Spirit weekend, emphasizing on the supernatural experiences of the Holy Spirit, like miracles, in line with the NAR movement.
Seems like there is two opposing camps in Christianity – NAR side and the orthodox side. I pray for unity of mind and spirit among Christians as the division within the body of Christ is unhealthy towards unbelievers.

Critic (vs The Message Paraphrased Bible)
NAR seem to be experiential while Reformed Theology, Apologetics, Hermenutics seems to be highly knowledge driven. Both is important but balance is needed. When studying either theology, we need to maintain our intimacy with not the text but on the person behind the text.

Bill Johnson’s Sermon on the renewed mind – http://www.cscc.org.sg/sermon/the-renewed-mind/
Learnt its about having faith in God for him to work through me as vessles for his glory, that he enables what he commands. The more it is impossible in what I do, the more he gets the glory.
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
After reading critics on Bill Johnson and listening to his sermon, I still find his sermons refreshing to listen to.
He also rebukes those he cannot approve i.e Jason Westerfield who turned new age.
In 2008, Jason Westerfield wrote his testimony. God worked through him but his heart changed. His testimony conclusion did not reflect very well and showed greed for money.
He turned New Age and resulted in Bill Johnson rebuking him
Praying for his restoration like Benny Hinn and Paula White.
Its interesting to note some not so common practices attributed to them
Bethel Church (Kris explain Bethel Church)
Ephesians 4:11-16 ESV
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

Our hearts, prayer and hope, to run the race, our glory
The Spirit’s help in our weaknesses
Confirm into the image of Christ
God’s Love, Will, Purpose, Predestination
What can seperate us from the love of Christ?
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Circumcise my heart O Lord by your Spirit and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation.
But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.

There is no area where God is not present. Challenge for me to know God intimately and walk in him.
O Lord , you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord , you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you. For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.
Summary of Article:
Everything in my life can be a stepping stone to holiness.
But in God’s economy, being blessed takes on a wholly new meaning. We are blessed when we have no resources. When we have nothing to turn to. No one to rely on. When nothing is going well. That is when God and his rule increases in our life. There is less of us. And more of God. And when we lose what is most dear to us, we value God’s embrace even more. And his embrace is more dear, more precious, more spectacular than anything we could possibly have lost.
